The recruitment is for the AOD Digboi Refinery unit of IOCL. Two categories of apprentices are being hired – Trade Apprentices and Technician Apprentices in streams such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Secretarial, Accounts, and Data Entry.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Code‑wise)

  • Codes 101/103: 3‑year B.Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry) with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Code 102: Matriculation with ITI in Fitter Trade (minimum 2 years, Pass class).
  • Code 104: 3‑year Diploma in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering/Technology.
  • Code 105: 3‑year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Code 106: 3‑year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Code 107: 3‑year Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering/related fields.
  • Code 108: 3‑year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.
  • Code 109: 3‑year B.Com.
  • Code 110: Class XII pass.
  • Code 111: Class XII pass with Skill Certificate in “Domestic Data Entry Operator”.

Only one code can be selected; applying for multiple codes leads to rejection. Candidates with higher qualifications (BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, etc.), work experience of ≥1 year, or qualifications obtained >5 years before the eligibility date are ineligible.

Selection Process

  1. A merit list is prepared based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying qualification, in descending order.
  2. Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
  3. In case of a tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) is ranked higher; if the date of birth is also same, higher percentage in Matriculation is considered.
  4. PwBD candidates receive relaxation in qualifying marks and are considered against reserved seats within their category.
  5. Shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification followed by a pre‑engagement medical fitness examination.
