Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has released the ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for a total of 140 vacancies across three trades – Fitter, Electrician and Welder. The recruitment is open exclusively to candidates registered on the NAPS portal from West Bengal and Jharkhand, and applications must be submitted by post before 31 July 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must possess an ITI certificate in the trade applied for.

• Only one trade can be applied for, either in West Bengal or Jharkhand.
• Applying for more than one discipline will lead to summary rejection.

Important Dates

Selection Process

1. A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying ITI examination.
2. If marks are equal, preference is given to the candidate who passed the ITI earlier (by year of passing).
3. If the year of passing is also the same, the older candidate (by date of birth) gets priority.
4. If date of birth is also identical, the candidate who registered earlier on the NAPS portal is considered senior.
5. Reservation as applicable for CPSUs will be observed throughout the process.
6. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
7. After successful verification, a training engagement letter will be issued indicating posting details and reporting date.
8. Candidates must join at the designated place of posting as per the engagement letter.
9. A joining letter will be issued from the place of posting, after which the candidate must report back to the HRD office for contract creation.
10. The place of apprenticeship training will be decided by the General Manager (HRD), ECL.

2. Fill in all required details, including NAPS registration number, discipline, date of birth, and bank details as uploaded on the NAPS portal.
3. Attach the self‑attested documents listed in the “Required Documents” section, along with the undertaking (Annexure‑III).
