Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Age: 18 to 25 years as on 1 January 2027.
  • Date of birth must be between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2009 (both inclusive).
  • No age relaxation (upper or lower) is permissible.
  • Only the DOB recorded in the 10th Standard/Matriculation Certificate will be accepted.

  • At least 3rd position in Category‑C championships/events, Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships, or National Games, or

Level‑1 (GP 1800)
  • Represented India in Category‑C championships/events, or
  • At least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior), or
  • Represented a State/equivalent unit with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships (except marathon & cross country).

Pay Scale & Salary

The notification states that recruitment will be against Level‑2 (GP 1900) and Level‑1 (GP 1800) of the RS(RP) Rules, 2016. Candidates will be appointed at the minimum of the applicable pay scale; exact salary figures are not disclosed in the notification.

Selection Process

  1. Document verification of all eligible candidates.
  2. Field trials (game skill, physical fitness, and coach’s observations) – total of 40 marks.
  3. Assessment of recognized sports achievements as per the prescribed norms – 50 marks.
  4. Educational qualification – 10 marks.
  5. Total marks out of 100; minimum qualifying marks: 65 for Level‑2 (GP 1900) and 60 for Level‑1 (GP 1800).
  6. Candidates scoring 25 or more out of 40 in the trial are declared FIT and proceed further.
  7. Final merit list prepared on total marks; in case of a tie, the younger candidate is preferred.
  8. Offer of appointment issued purely on merit.
