Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per Rule‑7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
Educational Qualification
- Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent recognized by the Government.
- One‑year Sanitary Inspector Diploma from a Government‑recognised institution or one‑year Certificate of Health Sanitary Inspector from an ITI or other recognised institute.
- Basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed.

Pay Scale & Salary
- Fixed monthly pay of ₹26,000 for the first five years, with other benefits as per Finance Department resolutions.
- After five years, eligible for 7th Pay Commission Level‑4 scale ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹81,100, subject to Supreme Court orders.
- For candidates appointed at Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, the same scale applies after three years of satisfactory service.

Selection Process
- Single‑stage Computer Based Response Test / Optical Mark Recognition (CBRT/OMR) exam.
- Exam consists of two parts:
- Part A – Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks) and Mathematics (30 marks) – total 60 marks.
- Part B – Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (30 marks) and Subject‑related questions (120 marks) – total 150 marks.
- Total of 210 questions, 210 marks, duration 3 hours.
- Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying criteria: minimum 40 % in Part A and minimum 40 % in Part B independently.
- Candidates meeting the qualifying standards will be shortlisted for document verification (approximately twice the number of vacancies).
- Final merit list will be prepared based on total marks and category‑wise vacancies.
