Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as on 1 August 2026 for General category.
    • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
    • OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation
    • Physically Challenged (≥40% disability): 10 years relaxation
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate Apprentice: 10+2 + full‑time graduation in relevant discipline (Engineering/Technology, B.Com for Accountant, B.A for Assistant‑HR) with minimum 60% (UR/OBC‑NCL/EWS) or 50% (SC/ST).
    • Technician Apprentice: High School pass + full‑time Diploma in Engineering (completed within last 5 years) with same percentage criteria.
    • Trade Apprentice: High School pass + full‑time ITI (NCVT/SCVT) – marks not specified.
  • Only candidates who completed their qualifying course in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible. Distance, part‑time, correspondence or sandwich courses are not accepted.
  • Candidates already undergoing or having completed an apprenticeship elsewhere, or possessing one year or more work experience, are ineligible.

Selection Process

  1. Eligibility verification as per the respective notification.
  2. Merit list prepared based on marks secured in the qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma/ITI).
  3. In case of a tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) is preferred.
  4. Selected candidates must satisfy the physical fitness standards prescribed under Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
  5. No TA/DA is paid for document verification or joining the training.

How to Apply

  1. Graduate & Technician Apprentice
    1. Register on the MHRD NATS 2.0 portal (nats.education.gov.in) and note the 12/16‑digit Student Enrolment Number.
    2. Visit the BHEL Trichy portal (trichy.bhel.com) and click “Apprenticeship Application Portal (TRICHY)”.
    3. Enter the NATS enrolment number, register on the BHEL portal, verify OTP and create a password.
    4. Log in, fill in the application form and upload the required documents.
    5. Submit the application and download/print the confirmation for future document verification.
  2. Trade Apprentice
    1. Register on the RDSDE (NAPS) portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and note the 10‑digit RDSDE (NAPS) registration number.
    2. Complete mandatory Aadhaar verification and e‑KYC ensuring name, DOB and gender match the SSLC certificate.
    3. Apply on the BHEL Trichy portal using the RDSDE (NAPS) registration number.
    4. Register on the BHEL portal, verify OTP, create a password, log in and fill the application form.
    5. Upload all required documents, submit the form and retain a copy for verification.

Only online applications will be considered; any offline submission will be rejected.
