Introduction

The Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC) Labour Department has announced the recruitment of 612 Trade Apprentices for 18 ITI trades across Mumbai. Selection Process

  1. Merit is based on marks obtained in the final semester of the ITI trade examination (as declared in the mela application).
  2. Applicable social reservations (SC/ST/VJ/NT‑B/NT‑C/NT‑D/SEBC/EWS) and parallel reservations (Women 30 %, Ex‑servicemen 15 %, Project‑affected 5 %, Sportspersons 5 %, Earthquake‑affected 2 %, Orphans 1 %, PwD 4 %) are considered.
  3. In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate (earlier date of birth) gets preference.
  4. A combined merit list is prepared; high‑scoring backward‑class candidates may also be considered for open‑category posts.
  5. Selected candidates’ names are published on the BMC recruitment portal, followed by document verification and an online offer.

How to Apply

  1. Visit www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and log in. Only Maharashtra ITI‑passed candidates are eligible.
  2. Under “Apprenticeship Opportunities,” select MCGM (BMC) as the establishment.
  3. On the applicable mela date (20 or 21 August 2026), appear in person at the venue mentioned above between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  4. Fill and submit the prescribed application form (format issued with the notification) along with self‑attested copies of the required documents.
  5. Candidates are shortlisted at the mela based on ITI final‑semester marks and reservation criteria.
  6. Selected candidates undergo document verification and receive an online offer through the portal.
  7. Accept the offer within 7 days; otherwise, the selection is cancelled and the next eligible candidate is considered.
  8. Upon acceptance, execute the Model Contract of Apprenticeship Training online between the candidate and BMC.
