- Candidate must possess a Graduate degree from any university recognized under the Central or State Acts, or an equivalent qualification as approved by the Government.

Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination (Screening Test): Objective type paper (General Knowledge & General Science) – 200 marks, 3 hours. Conducted online/offline. Marks are not counted for final merit.
- Main Examination (Written): Descriptive/analytical test comprising four papers, each of 200 marks and 3 hours:
- Paper I – General Studies I
- Paper II – General Studies II
- Paper III – General Studies III
- Paper IV – General Hindi and General English
- Interview / Personality Test (if applicable) for shortlisted candidates.
- Final Merit List prepared based on Main Examination marks (and Interview, where applicable).
