Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements

  • Age: No upper age limit; candidates must satisfy the experience requirement.
  • Nationality: Indian citizen.
  • Proficiency in English (medium of instruction).

Route A – Academic / Research Path

  • Ph.D. in the concerned, allied, or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 10 research publications in peer‑reviewed or UGC‑listed journals.
  • Research score of 120 as per Appendix I, Table 1.
  • At least 10 years of teaching experience (Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor) or equivalent research experience.
  • Evidence of successful guidance of doctoral candidates.

Route B – Outstanding Professional / Industry Path

  • Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or applied discipline (not covered under Route A).
  • Significant contribution to knowledge in the discipline, supported by documentary evidence.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional/industry experience.

Marks Relaxation for Reserved Categories

  • 5 % relaxation in qualifying marks for SC, ST, OBC (non‑creamy layer), and Differently‑abled candidates.
  • For Ph.D. holders whose Master’s degree was obtained before 19 September 1991, the minimum qualifying mark is relaxed to 50 % (instead of 55 %).
  • Grace marks are NOT considered while computing eligibility.

Other Important Notes

  • Time spent acquiring M.Phil/Ph.D. is NOT counted as teaching/research experience.
  • Foreign degrees must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Current employees must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before appearing before the Selection Committee.
