Introduction

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released two notifications on 10 July 2026 for the recruitment of 1,087 Teacher posts in the residential schools managed by the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Societies (KREIS). The vacancies are split between the Rest of the State (RPC) cadre (767 posts) and the Kalyana‑Karnataka (KK) local cadre (320 posts). Eligibility Criteria

  • Indian citizenship.
  • Mentally and physically fit to perform duties.
  • Male candidates with more than one living spouse (and their spouses) are ineligible unless exempted by the government.

Educational Qualification (Subject‑wise)

  • Kannada Teachers: Graduation with Kannada as an optional subject (Arts) or a four‑year “Kannada Pandith” course, plus a B.Ed. in Kannada; or a degree with Kannada optional + postgraduate in Kannada.
  • English Teachers: Graduation with English optional (Arts) or a postgraduate diploma in English, plus B.Ed. (English); or related qualifications as described.
  • Hindi Teachers: Graduation with Hindi optional + B.Ed. (Hindi) or postgraduate/graduate with Hindi major + B.Ed. (Hindi), plus Kannada proficiency.
  • Mathematics Teachers: Graduation in Science with Mathematics & Physics (plus one optional subject) + B.Ed. (Science), plus Kannada proficiency.
  • Science Teachers: Graduation in Science with Chemistry + one of Botany/Zoology/Biology + B.Ed. (Science), plus Kannada proficiency.
  • Social Science Teachers: Graduation with any two of History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Geography (Arts) + B.Ed. (Arts) + Kannada proficiency; must have studied in English medium.
  • Computer Science Teachers (RPC only): Graduation in Engineering/Technology/Computer Science/BCA/B.Sc. (CS) + B.Ed. + Kannada proficiency.
  • Physical Education Teachers: Recognized university degree + B.P.Ed. + Kannada proficiency.
  • Graduate Drawing Teachers (KK only): B.F.A./B.V.A. or equivalent + Kannada proficiency.
  • Diploma Drawing Teachers (KK only): Diploma in Drawing/Painting/Applied Arts + Kannada proficiency.

For posts 1‑6 (Kannada, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science), candidates must hold a valid Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper‑2 certificate or a CTET certificate.
