Pay Scale & Salary
The selected candidates will be appointed under the Revised Pay Structure Level‑09 with a pay band of Rs. 9,300–34,800 per month and a Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400. Other allowances as per the Bihar Government rules will be applicable.

Selection Process
- Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test) – 100 MCQs, 2 hours, bilingual (Hindi & English).
- Result declaration and qualification based on category‑wise minimum qualifying marks:
- General (UR) – 40 %
- BC – 36.5 %
- EBC – 34 %
- SC / ST / Women / Divyang (PH) – 32 %
- Document Verification of candidates who have qualified the written exam, in the ratio prescribed for each category.
- Final merit list prepared on the basis of written examination marks (normalisation applied if multiple sessions).
Negative marking: +1 for correct answer, −0.25 for wrong answer.
How to Apply
- Visit the official BTSC portal: https://www.btsc.bihar.gov.in.
- Click on the “Recruitment” / “Career” section and select “Food Analyst Recruitment 2026”.
- Read the notification carefully and click on “Apply Online”.
- Register using a valid email address and mobile number. An OTP will be sent for verification.
- Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and work experience as per the eligibility criteria.
- Upload the following documents (PDF/JPEG, max 200 KB each):
- Matriculation (Class 10) certificate/marksheet (date of birth proof).
- Degree certificate and mark sheets for the qualifying degree.
- Experience certificate for minimum 3 years in food analysis.
- Certificate of passing the FSSAI Food Analyst examination.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 through the available online modes.
- Review all entered information and uploaded documents carefully.
- Submit the application and note down the generated Application ID for future reference.
- A confirmation email/SMS will be sent to the registered email and mobile number.

- What is the minimum educational qualification required?
A Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctorate degree in Chemistry or any related science (as listed) with at least 3 years of experience in food analysis, plus passing the FSSAI Food Analyst exam.
- What is the age limit for General category candidates?
Candidates must be between 21 and 37 years as on 01‑08‑2026. Age relaxations apply for women, BC/EBC, SC/ST, Divyang and regular Bihar government employees.
