Option Details
Option A – Matriculation + ITI Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in any trade of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning Mechanic.
OR Matriculation/SSLC plus completed Apprenticeship in the above trades.
Option B – Matriculation + Diploma/Degree in Engineering Matriculation/SSLC plus 3‑year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering (or any combination) from a recognized institution.
Degree in the above engineering streams is also acceptable in lieu of Diploma.

Pay Scale & Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed at Level‑2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial basic pay of Rs. 19,900/- per month. Other allowances as per Railway rules will be applicable.

Selection Process

  1. Stage 1 – CBT‑1 (Screening): 75 questions, 60 minutes, negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer.
  2. Stage 2 – CBT‑2:
    • Part‑A: 100 marks (subject‑wise), 120 minutes.
    • Part‑B: 75 marks (qualifying), 60 minutes.
    • Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer.
  3. Stage 3 – CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test): 100 marks, 90 minutes, no negative marking.
  4. Stage 4 – Document Verification (DV): Verification of original certificates and other documents.
  5. Stage 5 – Medical Examination (ME): Candidates must satisfy Medical Standard A‑1.

Final merit list is prepared on the basis of combined marks from Part‑A of CBT‑2 (50% weightage) and CBAT (50% weightage).

  2. Click on “Online Application” and register by providing a valid email ID and mobile number.
  3. Fill in all personal, educational and experience details as per the application form.
  4. Upload scanned copies of required documents (photograph, signature, SSLC/Matriculation certificate, ITI/Diploma/Degree certificates, caste certificate, etc.) in the prescribed format and size.
  5. Pay the applicable application fee through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI.
  6. Review the entered information carefully and submit the application.
  7. After successful submission, download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
