Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a university recognized by the UGC.

Age Limit

  • General: 21 to 30 years as on 1 January 2026.
  • Local residents of Chhattisgarh: upper limit relaxed by 5 years (up to 35 years), effectively allowing up to 40 years during the relaxation period (1 Jan 2024 – 31 Dec 2028).
  • Category‑specific relaxations (maximum combined limit 45 years):
    • SC/ST/OBC (non‑creamy layer) of Chhattisgarh – 5 years
    • Government/corporation employees – up to 38 years
    • Ex‑servicemen – relaxation equal to service period (max +3 years)
    • Retrenched government servants – up to 7 years (max +3 years)
    • Widowed/divorced/separated women – 5 years
    • Contractual employees – relaxation equal to contract years (capped at 38 years)
    • Persons with disabilities – 5 years
    • Shiksha Karmi / Panchayat Karmi – relaxation equal to service years (capped at 45 years)

Pay Scale & Salary

The selected candidates will be appointed at Level‑9 of the pay matrix with a salary range of Rs. 38,100 – 1,20,400 per month.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination (Objective Type) – 150 questions, 3 hours, total 300 marks.
    • Part 1 – General Knowledge: 50 questions, 100 marks
    • Part 2 – Law (Major & Minor Acts): 100 questions, 200 marks
  2. Interview – 30 marks.
  3. Final Merit List – Combined score of 330 marks (written + interview), prepared category‑wise.

Negative marking is applied as per the formula: MO = M × R − (1/3) × M × W. Minimum qualifying marks: 33 % for Unreserved and 23 % for reserved categories in each paper. No minimum for the interview.
