Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit (as on 18 September 2026):
    • Minimum: 18 years
    • General Merit: maximum 40 years
    • Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: maximum 43 years
    • SC / ST / Category‑1: maximum 45 years
  • Educational Qualification: PUC (minimum 50% marks) plus any one of the following:
    • 2‑year Diploma in Elementary Education
    • 4‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
    • 2‑year Diploma in Special Education

    For SC/ST/Category‑1 OBC and PwD candidates, the minimum PUC marks are relaxed to 45%.

  • Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): Must have qualified the Karnataka or India‑wide TET.

Pay Scale & Salary

Selected candidates will be placed on the 2024 revised Karnataka State Pay Scale ranging from ₹41,300 to ₹81,800. The pay structure follows the incremental pattern: ₹41,300‑1,000‑43,300‑1,125‑47,800‑1,250‑52,800‑1,375‑58,300‑1,500‑64,300‑1,650‑74,200‑1,900‑81,800. A probation period of two years and the National Pension Scheme (NPS) are applicable.

Selection Process

  1. Competitive written examination (Computer‑Based Test or Offline OMR‑based) conducted by KEA.
  2. Two papers, each of 100 questions (100 marks) and 2 hours duration:
    • Paper‑1: General knowledge, current affairs, Indian Constitution, Indian & Karnataka history, geography, economics, Panchayat Raj, rural cooperatives, Karnataka development schemes, environment.
    • Paper‑2: General Kannada, General English, Computer Knowledge.
  3. Minimum qualifying aggregate: 35%. Candidates scoring below are disqualified.
  4. Negative marking: −0.25 for each wrong answer.
  5. Kannada Language Test for candidates not exempt; minimum 50 marks out of 150 required. This test does not count towards merit.

  2. Click on the “Apply Online” link for the Residential School Teacher recruitment.
  3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number. Note your Registration Number and Password.
  4. Log in and fill in personal, educational, and other required details.
  5. Upload a recent passport‑size photograph (JPEG, white background, 50–200 KB) and a scanned signature (JPEG, 50–70 KB).
  6. Review all entered information carefully; modifications are not allowed after submission.
  7. Pay the applicable application fee online before 19 September 2026.
  8. Submit the application and note down the confirmation number for future reference.
