The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released two notifications on 10 July 2026 for the recruitment of 1,087 Teacher posts in the residential schools of the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Societies (KREIS). The vacancies are split between the Rest of the State (RPC) cadre (767 posts) and the Kalyana‑Karnataka (KK) local cadre (320 posts). Applications are accepted online from 15 July 2026 to 17 August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

General Eligibility

  • Indian citizenship.
  • Mentally and physically fit to discharge duties.
  • Male candidates with more than one living spouse (and their spouses) are ineligible unless specifically exempted.

Minimum age is 18 years. Additional relaxations are available for government/local‑body employees, ex‑servicemen, NCC supervisors, village surveyors, special‑pay candidates, and widows as per the official notification.

Educational Qualification (Subject‑wise)

  • Kannada, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science & Physical Education Teachers: Graduation in the relevant subject + B.Ed. (method subject) plus Kannada proficiency (certificate or study up to degree level).
  • Computer Science Teachers (RPC only): Engineering/Technology degree, BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science + B.Ed. with Kannada proficiency.
  • Graduate Drawing Teachers (KK only): B.F.A./B.V.A. or equivalent Fine Arts degree + Kannada proficiency.
  • Diploma Drawing Teachers (KK only): Diploma in Drawing/Painting/Applied Arts + Kannada proficiency.

For posts 1‑6 (language and core subjects), a valid Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper‑2 or CTET certificate is mandatory.

Pay Scale & Salary

  • Kannada, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer Science & Physical Education Teachers: ₹54,175 – ₹99,400 (2024 Revised State Pay Scale).
  • Graduate & Diploma Drawing Teachers: ₹49,050 – ₹92,500 (2024 Revised State Pay Scale).

All selected candidates will be covered under the National Pension System (NPS). No GPF or PF scheme applies.
