Eligibility Criteria
- Only women candidates are eligible.
- Candidate must be a permanent resident of the same Gram Sabha (rural) or Ward (urban) for which she applies.
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years as on 01 July 2026. Date of birth as per High School marksheet/certificate will be considered.
- Educational Qualification: Minimum Intermediate (12th) pass or equivalent. Candidates with higher qualifications (up to postgraduate) are also eligible. Merit will be based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying exam (10th marks not considered).
- No prior work experience is required.

Selection Process
- Merit list preparation based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying (12th) examination.
- Reservation as per category‑wise breakup (UR, OBC, SC) will be applied.
- Priority Category (a):
- Widow woman belonging to a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, resident of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- Legally divorced or abandoned (deserted) woman belonging to a BPL family, resident of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- If none of the above, other women belonging to a BPL family of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- Priority Category (b) (applicable only if no eligible candidate is found under Category (a)):
- Widow woman belonging to an Above Poverty Line (APL) family, resident of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- Legally divorced or abandoned woman belonging to an APL family, resident of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- If none of the above, other women belonging to an APL family of the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
- Two women from the same family cannot be appointed as Anganwadi Karyakartri and Anganwadi Sahayika at the same centre.
