The Indian Army has announced the NCC Special Entry Scheme – 125th Course (April 2027) for Short Service Commission (Non‑Tech) posts. A total of 70 vacancies (63 for general NCC candidates and 7 for wards of battle casualties) are available for unmarried male graduates. Post & Organization Details

The recruitment is conducted by the Indian Army (Directorate General of Recruiting). Selected candidates will undergo pre‑commission training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai and will be commissioned as Short Service Commission officers (Non‑Tech) in April 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian citizen, Nepalese subject, or person of Indian origin from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries (with eligibility certificate where required).
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 19 and 25 years as on 01 January 2027 (i.e., born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2008, both dates inclusive). No age relaxation mentioned.
  • Educational Qualification: Unmarried male graduates from a recognised university.
  • NCC Requirement (General Category): Minimum ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate after at least 2‑3 years of service in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC. Final‑year students may apply, provided the degree is completed before the course starts.
  • Wards of Battle Casualties: Unmarried sons or daughters (including legally adopted) of Army personnel classified as battle casualties. Same graduation requirement, but NCC ‘C’ Certificate is not required.

Pay Scale & Salary

Selected cadets will receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,100 during the training period at OTA Chennai.

Selection Process

  1. Application submission through the online portal.
  2. Shortlisting of applications based on bonus marks (NCC performance + graduation performance).
  3. SSB Centre & Date selection (first‑come‑first‑served).
  4. SSB Interview (two‑stage, up to five days).
  5. Medical Examination (validity 270 days from SSB medical board date).
  6. Merit List preparation based on SSB interview marks (ties broken by age, then academic percentage).
  7. Issuance of Joining Letter for successful candidates.

  2. Click “Registration” and complete the registration form (skip if already registered).
  3. After logging in, select “Apply Online” from the Dashboard and choose “Eligibility” on the Officers Selection page.
  4. Click “Apply” against the “Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course” option.
  5. Enter personal, communication, education, and previous SSB details. Save & Continue after each section.
  6. Review the “Summary of your information” page and click “Submit” only after confirming all details.
  7. Print two copies of the submitted application (with Roll Number) after the online window closes on the last day.
