Introduction

The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) has announced the Assistant Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026 for a total of 312 vacancies. The posts are offered on a purely engagement basis for five years with a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 25,000. Applications are accepted online from 30 July 2026 to 29 August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

• Gender & Domicile: Female candidates only, Himachali Bonafide.
• Registration: Must be registered with Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla‑06.
• Educational Qualification: Either
  • B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 50 % marks, or
  • GNM (A Grade Nursing Diploma) with minimum 50 % marks.
• School Qualification: Must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school/institution situated within Himachal Pradesh (exempt for Bonafide Himachalis).
• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years as on 01.01.2026. Upper age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, PwD (Himachal domicile), Himachal Government employees, and ex‑servicemen as per prevailing rules.

Pay Scale & Salary

Selected candidates will receive a fixed, consolidated monthly honorarium of Rs. 25,000/- for a period of five years. The engagement is temporary; candidates will not become regular government employees.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) / written screening test of 120 marks (1½ hours).
2. Test consists of 120 multiple‑choice questions, each carrying 1 mark.
3. Syllabus includes:
   • Subjects/fields up to the level of the essential qualification.
   • General Knowledge (including Himachal Pradesh specific), Current Affairs.
   • Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English & General Hindi (Matric level).
4. Minimum qualifying marks: 45 % for General category; 40 % for SC/ST/OBC/WFF candidates. If required, the qualifying percentage may be relaxed by up to 5 % as per the authority’s discretion.
5. In case of multiple‑shift CBT, scores will be normalized using the Z‑Score method.
6. The mode of examination may be CBT or OMR, as decided by HPRCA.
