- Two women from the same family cannot be appointed to the posts of Anganwadi Karyakatri and Sahayika.
- One woman cannot apply for more than one centre or post.
- Preference order within a gram‑sabha/ward:
- Women living below the poverty line (BPL).
- If no BPL women, widows.
- Then legally divorced or deserted women living below the poverty line.
- If still vacant, BPL women from the same category residing above the poverty line, followed by widows and divorced/deserted women above the poverty line.
- Final selection decisions rest with the higher authorities and the selection committee.
