Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

General category candidates must be between 18 and 30 years as of the closing date of online registration (13 August 2026). Age relaxations are as follows:

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy **one** of the following routes:

  1. Route I: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized institute or university, **or** Post‑Certificate/Post‑Basic B.Sc. Nursing, **and** registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
  2. Route II: Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute/board/council, **and** registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council, **plus** a minimum of two years’ experience in a ≥50‑bedded hospital after obtaining the qualification.

Pay Scale & Salary

Selected candidates will be placed at Level 07 in the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre‑revised Pay Band‑2 of Rs. 9,300 – 34,800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600. The posts are classified as Group‑B and will attract the usual central government allowances applicable to the posting city.

Selection Process

  1. Stage I – NORCET Preliminary: 90‑minute qualifying CBT with 100 MCQs (20 General Knowledge & Aptitude, 80 Nursing subjects). Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. This stage only shortlists candidates for Stage II.
  2. Stage II – NORCET Mains: 180‑minute CBT with 160 case‑scenario‑based MCQs covering the nursing syllabus. Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Final merit is based solely on the Stage II score.

  2. Register using a valid email address and mobile number to create a login ID and password.
  3. Fill in all required personal, educational, and professional details in the online application form.
