Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.) from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, or an equivalent degree as defined under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.
- Candidate must be registered with the Uttarakhand Veterinary Council.
- Preferential qualifications (optional): Post‑graduate degree/diploma in Veterinary Science, minimum two years service in the Territorial Army, or NCC ‘B’/‘C’ certificate.
Nationality
- Indian citizen, or Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or certain East African countries (with eligibility certificate).
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 42 years
- Reckoning date: 1 July 2026 (date of birth between 2 July 1984 and 1 July 2005).

Selection Process
- Written Objective‑type Examination consisting of three papers:
- Paper I – General Studies & General Hindi (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hrs)
- Paper II – Veterinary Science (150 questions, 300 marks, 3 hrs)
- Paper III – Animal Science (150 questions, 300 marks, 3 hrs)
- Total marks: 800. Negative marking: ¼ of the marks allotted to a question for each wrong answer.
- No marks deducted for unattempted questions; calculators are prohibited.
- Merit list prepared based on the written exam; candidates will be called for further stages as per the merit list.
