Qualification

Candidates must meet the following educational and language requirements as per the notification:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Law (LLB) Professional Degree from a recognised university OR Barrister of England/Ireland OR Member of Faculty of Advocates of Scotland. Candidates must be eligible for enrollment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience of practice at the Bar.
  • Language Requirement: Must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject or any equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
  • Domicile: Reservation benefits are available only to residents of Punjab. A Domicile/Residence Certificate not older than 5 years is mandatory.

Salary Details

The selected candidates will be placed in Group-B posts with the following pay scale:

  • Pay Scale: ₹35,400/- (as per 7th Central Pay Commission)

Selection Process

The selection will be made based on the following stages:

  1. Written Examination: Objective Type MCQ based. Each question carries 1 mark. There is negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer.
  2. Merit List Preparation: Based on written exam marks. Tie-breaking criteria include Date of Birth, percentage in qualification, and Matriculation marks.
  3. Counselling & Document Verification: Candidates will be called based on merit to produce original certificates.
  4. Recommendation: Eligible candidates will be recommended to the Punjab Justice Department.
