Eligibility Criteria
Common Age Limit
All candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 01.01.2027. Age relaxations of up to 5 years are available for SC, ST, OBC (non‑creamy layer), EWS, Divyangjan, women (MP domicile) and ex‑servicemen, subject to a maximum age of 45 years.
Assistant Director (Fisheries)
- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.) or a related postgraduate degree, plus either a one‑year ICAR‑recognized Inland Fisheries Training course or a pass in the Assistant Fisheries Officer level course.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of continuous work in inland fisheries development or research (as Assistant Fisheries Officer, Research Assistant, or equivalent).
Assistant Director (Higher Education)
- Educational Qualification: Graduate degree from a recognized university, along with either successful completion of accounts training conducted by the Directorate of Treasury and Accounts or passing the S.A.S. (Part I) examination.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of departmental experience in accounts and audit work, certified by the Head of Department or an equivalent authority.

Selection Process
- Initial shortlisting based on the number of applicants per post.
- If applicants for a post exceed 500, a written examination will be conducted first.
- Written exam merit list (no qualifying marks required) is combined with interview marks.
- Interview (maximum 100 marks) – minimum qualifying marks: 41 for unreserved, 31 for reserved/divyangjan.
- Final merit list prepared after interview (or written + interview) and candidates are offered appointment.
- Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of 2 years.
