Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Indian citizen (or subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees settled before 01‑01‑1962, or persons of Indian origin as defined).
- Clear/normal vision; colour‑blindness disqualifies.
Educational Qualification
- Standard 12 Pass (10+2) from Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent.
- Diploma (10+3 or more), ITI (2‑year) with NCVT, or Polytechnic (3‑year) are also acceptable with proper equivalence certificate.
Computer Knowledge
- Basic Computer Knowledge Certificate as per Gujarat Government resolution No. CRR‑10‑2007‑120320‑G‑5 dated 13/08/2008, or a recognized computer diploma/degree, or Std. 10/12 with Computer as a subject.
Driving Licence & PSV Badge
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Licence (HGV/HPV/PSV) issued by RTO for public vehicle.
- PSV Badge mandatory at the time of online application.
- Smart Card licence (not manual/book‑type) required for document verification.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience driving heavy diesel vehicles (bus/truck) after obtaining the HGV/HPV/PSV licence.
- Experience certificate from the transporter/company with owner’s signature and seal is mandatory.
- Female candidates without heavy‑vehicle experience may be appointed after completing 2 months of satisfactory training at GSRTC’s Automatic Driving Test Centre.

Reservation Benefits

Pay Scale & Salary

Selection Process
- Stage 1 – OMR Written Test (100 Marks, 100 Questions, 60 Minutes)
- General Knowledge (Std. 12 level) – Gujarati – 30 Marks
- Road Safety & Auto Mechanics – Gujarati – 20 Marks
- Gujarati Language – Gujarati – 20 Marks
- English Grammar – English – 15 Marks
- Numerical Ability – Gujarati – 15 Marks
No minimum passing mark; candidates scoring zero will be disqualified for the next stage. Negative marking of 0.25 per wrong/blank/over‑written answer. Skipping a question (option E) incurs no penalty.
- Stage 2 – Driving Test (Practical assessment of driving heavy vehicles). Weightage: 60 % of total merit.
- Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of 40 % OMR + 60 % Driving Test = 100 %.
