Introduction

Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI), an ISO 9001:2015 certified premier research institute under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, has released a direct recruitment notification for 19 posts of Research Engineer (RE) and Junior Research Engineer (JRE). The online application window is open from 24 July 2026 to 24 August 2026.

The recruitment is for two categories of scientific staff:

• Research Engineer (RE) – Level 10, 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)
• Junior Research Engineer (JRE) – Level 8, 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100)

All selected candidates will be posted at the institute’s headquarters in Kanjikode West, Palakkad, Kerala, or may be transferred anywhere in India as per organizational requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Research Engineer (RE)

• Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years relevant experience, or M.E./M.Tech. with 3 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 65% marks in the qualifying degree (60% for SC/ST candidates).
• Degree must be from a UGC‑recognized university, deemed university, or AICTE‑approved institution.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in Fluid Flow Research specialization.

Junior Research Engineer (JRE)

• Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics, or Instrumentation‑related Engineering as per the post code.
• Minimum 65% marks in the qualifying degree (60% for SC/ST candidates).
• Freshers are eligible; no prior experience required.
• Candidates awaiting final results may apply, provided they upload final marksheets and degree certificates by 31.08.2026.

Age Limit (as on 24.08.2026)

Age relaxation of up to 5 years is allowed for regular employees of Government, Central Autonomous Bodies, or PSUs, provided they remain employed in the government sector until joining FCRI.

Pay Scale & Salary

Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, NPS, gratuity, medical reimbursement, travel/daily allowance, and leave benefits are applicable as per institute policy.

Selection Process

1. Screening of Applications: Verification of educational qualifications, experience (where applicable), age, and fee payment. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on the institute’s website.
2. Written Test (JRE only): Online bilingual (Hindi/English) MCQ test conducted at test centres in Coimbatore and/or Kochi.
3. Interview: Candidates who clear the written test (JRE) or meet the screening criteria (RE) will be called for a personal interview.
