The recruitment is for two categories of scientific staff:
- Research Engineer (RE) – Level 10, 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)
- Junior Research Engineer (JRE) – Level 8, 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100)
All selected candidates will be posted at the institute’s headquarters in Kanjikode West, Palakkad, Kerala, or may be transferred anywhere in India as per organizational requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
Research Engineer (RE)
- Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years relevant experience, or M.E./M.Tech. with 3 years relevant experience.
- Minimum 65% marks in the qualifying degree (60% for SC/ST candidates).
- Degree must be from a UGC‑recognized university, deemed university, or AICTE‑approved institution.
- Desirable: Ph.D. in Fluid Flow Research specialization.
Junior Research Engineer (JRE)
- Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics, or Instrumentation‑related Engineering as per the post code.
- Minimum 65% marks in the qualifying degree (60% for SC/ST candidates).
- Freshers are eligible; no prior experience required.
- Candidates awaiting final results may apply, provided they upload final marksheets and degree certificates by 31.08.2026.

Selection Process
- Screening of Applications: Verification of educational qualifications, experience (where applicable), age, and fee payment. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on the institute’s website.
- Written Test (JRE only): Online bilingual (Hindi/English) MCQ test conducted at test centres in Coimbatore and/or Kochi.
- Interview: Candidates who clear the written test (JRE) or meet the screening criteria (RE) will be called for a personal interview.
