Eligibility Criteria

Age Relaxation Up to 5 years for ESIC/Government servants; 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC; 10 years for PwBD (cumulative maximum as per rules); additional relaxations for Ex‑Servicemen
Educational Qualification – Medical Candidates
  • Recognised medical qualification as per IMC Act 1956 (First/Second Schedule or Part‑II of Third Schedule)
  • Post‑graduate qualification – MD/MS or equivalent in the concerned subject or allied discipline
Educational Qualification – Non‑Medical Candidates Post‑graduate degree (Master’s) in the concerned subject/allied discipline **and** a Doctorate (PhD) from a recognised university as per MCI/NMC regulations
Teaching Experience
  • Four years as Reader/Associate Professor in a recognised medical college in the concerned specialty; OR
  • Three years as Associate Professor with at least four research publications (first author) in indexed/national journals, minimum two during Associate Professor tenure
Experience Recognition Teaching experience must be recognised by the Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission or relevant statutory body; experience as General Duty Medical Officer is not counted
PwBD Eligibility Minimum 40 % benchmark disability in notified categories; disability must be suitable for the specialty as per notification

Pay Scale & Salary

  • Basic Pay: Pay Level‑13 (Rs. 1,23,100 – Rs. 2,15,900) in the 7th CPC pay matrix
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), Non‑Practicing Allowance (NPA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other admissible allowances as per Central Government/ESIC rules

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting (if applications are large) based on teaching experience beyond the minimum required level.
  2. Interview conducted by the ESIC Selection Board.
  3. Minimum qualifying marks in interview: UR/EWS – 50, OBC – 45, SC/ST/PwBD – 40 (out of 100).
  4. Tie‑breaking: older candidate preferred; if still tied, earlier PG degree passing year; if still tied, earlier internship completion date.
  5. A Reserve List may be prepared as per UPSC‑like provisions.

  1. Download the prescribed application form from the official ESIC website or the notification PDF link.
  2. Read the instruction booklet carefully and fill in all required details.
  3. Attach scanned copies of all mandatory documents (educational certificates, experience certificates, PwBD certificate if applicable, etc.).
  4. Pay the applicable application fee (if any) through Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque in favour of “ESI Fund Account No. 2”, Delhi.
  5. Send the completed application form along with the fee DD (if applicable) by Speed Post to the address mentioned in the notification before the last date.
  6. Retain the Speed Post receipt as proof of submission.

  1. What is the age limit for general category candidates?
    Candidates must not be older than 50 years as on 27‑07‑2026. Age relaxations apply as per category.
