Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: Upper age limit of 28 years as on 17/09/2026 (relaxable as per category).
- Educational Qualification: SSC/10th (or equivalent) with Science subjects, minimum 55 %, plus one of the following:
- ITI/Trade Certificate in the relevant trade, OR
- 2 years full‑time apprenticeship in the relevant trade, OR
- 3 years work experience in the relevant trade in a government/PSU/autonomous body.
- Experience: As mentioned above; the qualification pattern is identical for all trade codes (260101‑260110).

Pay Scale & Salary
The post is classified under Group‑C, Pay Matrix Level‑2 with a salary range of Rs. 19,900‑63,200/- per month. In addition to basic pay, incumbents receive standard Central Government allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, medical reimbursement, Children’s Education Allowance, and are covered under the National Pension System (NPS). Accommodation may be provided as per CSIR Residence Allotment Rules (HRA not payable where accommodation is granted).

Selection Process
- Screening of applications by a Screening Committee.
- Shortlisted candidates are invited for a qualifying Trade Test.
- Candidates clearing the Trade Test appear for a written examination (Paper‑I, Paper‑II, Paper‑III).
- Paper‑II and Paper‑III are evaluated only for candidates who meet the Paper‑I threshold.
- Final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in Paper‑II and Paper‑III.
